The Birmingham Buddhist Centre was a synagogue and, before that, a family home.
Now it is home to the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order.
It includes a purpose-built yoga studio, a large shrine room with a beautiful larger-than-life statue of Buddha, meeting rooms, gift and bookshop and a lovely garden.
Classes in both meditation and Buddhism are held most nights of the week. There are a variety of weekend events and, of course, festivals.
The Centre also hosts yoga and Chi Kung classes.
The Centre is a resource for a large number of people from all walks of life, indeed from all religious backgrounds. Some come to learn meditation, some out of curiousity, some even become Buddhists.
